Implementation Team Leader 

SALARY

£21,000 to £23,500 per annum, dependent on experience.

JOB PURPOSE

To lead in the delivery of our planting and aftercare services.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

INSTALLATION, PLANTING AND AFTERCARE

  • Setting out and planting up gardens in line with agreed planting procedures and plans
  • Complete allocated projects within given timeframes
  • Aftercare of gardens
  • Accessorising gardens (assembling furniture, setting out and installation of planters, installing firepits)
  • Soft landscaping (incl. but not limited to turfing, soil preparation and mulching)
  • Complete daily job logs and report issues through our client portal app.
  • Attend CPD and staff development in order to develop plant and planting knowledge
  • Ordering materials for tree staking and subsequent tree staking on site.
  • Bulb Planting
  • Receiving and supervising plant deliveries on site with assistance of Implementation Assistant.
  • Ensure work vehicle is clean and prepared for site visits e.g. tools, equipment, fuel etc. with delegation of such tasks to Implementation Assistant.
  • Keep up to date stock list of nursery stock and lock up inventory
  • Assisting the Operations Director in the training and professional development of Implementation Assistant(s).
  • Remaining compliant with health and safety processes and procedures on site.

Job Specification:

You will be responsible for the timely delivery of all planting and aftercare aspects of our garden builds, to set out and plant up our client’s gardens and accessorise with products where necessary with the assistance of an Implementation Assistant. This will include receiving and unloading deliveries, quality checking plant health, following planting and setting out plans and planting to agreed planting procedures.

We have regular aftercare schedules in client’s gardens that you will be responsible for undertaking. These tasks could include weeding, pruning, moving plants, spraying, planting bulbs, garden refreshes etc. and you will be required to work in all weathers.

You must be committed to personal development and growth incl. attending CPD and performance reviews.

On site hours of work are – Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm and Friday 8am – 4pm (but must be flexible for special events e.g. flower shows)

Person Specification:

You must have a passion for horticulture and the realisation of high-quality garden designs with high attention to detail. You must be punctual, professional, hardworking, be physically fit in order to keep up with the demands of the job and be presentable in your appearance.

Horticulture qualifications are essential alongside in-depth knowledge of plants, their care and identification. Practical experience working with plants and their care is also essential.

You may be required to work alone as well as part of a team and therefore must be able to work from your own initiative as well as be a team player with sound communication skills.  You may be asked to work alongside landscapers/contractors and should do so professionally.

It is essential that you have the ability to take ownership of projects on site, as it will be your responsibility to complete all allocated tasks to time and to an exemplary level.

Being organised, driven and self-motivated are key attributes we are seeking for this position.

You must be honest and trustworthy incl. committed to the security, integrity and confidentiality of data.

You may occasionally work away from home for short periods of time to meet the needs of the business e.g. supporting show garden builds and projects at a distance. Subsistence will be covered during this time. 

Uniform and equipment will be provided and full training for this role will be ongoing alongside current staff.

Spraying certificates are desirable but not essential.

First Aid training is desirable but not essential.

You must hold a full UK driving license in order to drive company vehicles.
