Finished colour: Sleepers look great when left ‘natural’ or can be painted for a more contemporary look (check your SmartPlan for colour). Popular colours include Cuprinol Ash Black and Urban Slate.
Installation notes:
Creation of a sleeper wall where sleepers are laid on end as photographed.
Any area of the sleepers that come into contact with soil should be painted with black bitumen paint suitable for timber (allow to dry prior installation/backfilling) to ensure longevity - follow manufactures advice on installation and safety precautions.
Works well when used as:
Small retaining walls (max height 600mm), for the creation of raised plant or vegetable beds and as an edging where small changes in level are required.
Additional Useful Information:
Should not be used to create walls over 600mm when laid on end (as illustrated).
