Acer palmatum

Description:
Acer palmatum refers to a range of small trees known as 'Japanese Maples' which are famous for their elegant form and unusual foliage colours which range from lime green to deep purple. This foliage goes through spectacular changes in autumn, providing a blaze of colour before falling in the winter. This slow growing tree is available in a large range of cultivars, sizes and shapes from compact to upright.
All are perfect as a small specimen tree, suited to woodland, shaded or tropical styled planting schemes. They also work really well in containers as a show-stopper in a minimalistic design. A sheltered location out of prevailing wind is a must!
