Aquilegia vulgaris var. stellata ‘White Barlow’

Description:

Aquilegia's are the perfect flower the bridge the seasonal gap between spring bulbs and summer perennials. ‘White Barlow’ has frilly double pom pom flowers of small white petals, borne on long stems rising above a base of elegant foliage. Perfect for adding sparkle within a shady border or happy in sun. They are very promiscuous and will spread around, hybridising with other Aquilegia's near by which could result in a range of white, pink or purple flowers 2 years down the line. If this is undesired, remove the seedheads after flowering.

Aftercare: As the foliage yellows in autumn, cut it off at the base to encourage fresh green rosette of growth. If self-seeding is undesired due to the colour palette, remove the seedheads immediately after flowering. To ensure identical offspring, propagate from basal cuttings in early summer. Replenish garden stock every 3-4 years to ensure longevity.
