Also known as 'Elephant's Ears' because of the large, leathery leaves, this evergreen, low maintenance plant will grow in sun or shade and tolerate a range of soils. Really useful as an edging or groundcover plant and perfect for planting en-mass in a tricky spot. This free flowering variety produces clusters of pure white flowers, which fade to a soft pink, held above the foliage in spring. The leaves remain green through the winter rather than turning red like some varieties do. Very low maintenance and weed suppressing, perfect for the minimalist or tropical themed garden which is all about foliage and texture.
Aftercare: Encourage large foliage by mulching each year in late spring with well-rotted organic matter. Remove tatty leaves regularly and deadhead after flowering. Divide clumps every few years to keep them healthy. Watering may be required in dry spells if planted in full sun.
