Elaeagnus × ebbingei

Description:

Pronounced El-ee-ag-nus, this evergreen shrub is really useful for tricky spots in the garden as it tolerate sun and shade so long as the soil is reasonably well drained. It can grow large and dense for screening at the back of a border or be kept at a reasonable size in hedge form. The foliage is leathery and slightly silvery with fragrant pale yellow flowers in autumn.
