Salvia rosmarinus

Description:
Rosemary is a wonderful evergreen shrub heralding from the Mediterranean. It is hardy throughout most of the UK down to temperatures of -10oc  if grown in well drained soil in full sun. In recent winters many rosemary shrubs have been lost due to a combination of sharp declines in temperature and very wet winters. It has a naturally bushy habit which can become leggy and untidy if left unpruned. The foliage is edible with a strongly recognisable scent and the flowers appear as a lovely pale blue flurry in spring and can often be repeated later in the year. A great choice for hedging, planters, herb and gravel gardens if the site is right.
