The most basic way to operate your garden lighting and perfect if you don’t have great wifi connectivity in the garden or you’re just not that into tech.

Pro’s:

  • Very easy to use. Simple on and off via a switch in your house or directly on the outdoor socket
  • Very easy to set up
  • No wifi connectivity required
  • Minimal maintenance
  • Energy efficient – only have them on when you’re around
  • Suggested only for rear gardens

Cons:

  • Restricted to use when at home
  • No automation possibilities
  • Potentially you will not use the gardens lights as much as you should due to forgetting to turn them on or having to go outside
  • Maximum two zones per socket (this should be enough for most small to medium sized gardens)
  • No ‘welcome home’ ability – you’ll have to turn them on when you arrive home
  • Not great for front gardens and driveways when some daylight automation would be useful

Sounding good? Then we’d recommend our LED Driver.  Requires one driver per zone/circuit/ring.

  • 1 ring x 52W

What you’ll require:

A double 240v outdoor weatherproof socket (installed by a Part P qualified electrician).

This solution is also ideal if you have an existing weatherproof outdoor socket that you currently operate from a switch indoors.
