A garden survey and site analysis are essential parts of the garden design process and where the design journey begins.

Your Garden Survey
Once you’ve paid for your Survey & Site Analysis, the process begins with a professional topographical survey and we’ll arrange this for you using a specialist surveyor. The document captures data such as heights of existing features including walls, steps and fences. Other features include your house and any outbuildings, inspection chambers, trees, borders, patios and outbuildings*.
The topographical survey provides the basis for your garden design and it’s what we’ll use to capture data for the site analysis (step two) and when exploring ideas at your design consultation (step three).
The usual turn around time from booking your survey to obtaining the drawing is around 2 weeks but we’d recommend allowing 4 weeks.
*Note – The survey will illustrate existing boundaries rather than legal boundaries, does not show the location of underground services and will only indicate trees and key shrubs rather than individual specimens.
Rather carry out your own site survey and site analysis?
We’re currently working on a series of videos that will guide you through the process of how to collect your own data. We’re not quite there yet, but are hoping to launch this in the summer of 2025.
