Hand Reconditioning
Contractor Specification:
Hand Reconditioning – Suitable ONLY for existing planting areas with a 300mm depth of good quality free draining top soil, and locations which are NOT accessible to a digger. Vegetation scrape to 100mm deep and dispose from site. Rotovate existing soil to 150mm and add a 50mm layer of composted green waste. Rotovate.
Apply 50mm mulch layer of composted green waste to top of soil.
• Designer to approve soil preparation on site before planting begins
• Ensure all areas to be planted are free from soil pans, weeds, roots, stones, rubble, plaster and other debris or contaminants. Please take special care to remove brick and rubble from the topsoil ensuring that only remaining stones to pass a 40mm sieve, and stone content to be less than 10%
• All borders to be subject to a profile dig at 1m intervals to determine soil quality. Designer to review profile digs.
