Malus 'Rudolph'

Description:
This Crab Apple variety forms a small tree with a neat, rounded crown. It is highly decorative, producing beautiful blossom in deep pink tones followed by greenish purple foliage. In autumn the foliage turns yellow and small, edible red fruits emerge. These can be used for jams and jellies or left for the birds. It is a lovely addition to a modern orchard planted in a grid with wildflower meadow beneath or as a single focal point in a border. Crab apples are also used to fertilise other edible apple crops nearby so are good additions if you grow a range of edible varieties to boost production. We love this tree because it is wonderful for wildlife and provides vibrant seasonal interest for colour lovers.
