Used as a pleached tree or hedge on stilts, this evergreen variety has glossy dark green leaves that provide screening and privacy all year round. In spring, pleasantly scented creamy flowers are produced, followed by dark fruits in the autumn, which are great for wildlife, but inedible for human consumption. This tree can tolerate most soils and planting conditions except very wet soil and chalk.
