Vinca minor

Description:

Despite it's small size and low creeping habit, this plant is classified as a shrub and not a herbaceous perennial. Over time it forms a dense green mat of narrow glossy green foliage, which prevents weeds and provides a low maintenance and stylish look particularly when planted en-mass. It tolerates a wide range of soil conditions and is very useful for evergreen groundcover in semi shaded or dry shady areas of the garden. At Bestall & Co we also use Vinca minor to add a little something extra to planters where it looks very elegant trailing over the sides as underplanting for beautiful multi-stem specimens. Twinkling blue flowers appear from spring and continue into autumn. Do not confuse with Vinca major, which has larger leaves and can be quite an aggressive grower.
