Step one in your garden planting & styling package
A garden survey and site analysis are essential parts of the planting & styling design process and allow us to obtain an accurate ‘blue print’ of the existing garden space.
Why is this required?
This information provides the basis on which all other documents are created so that we can ensure accurate plans, appropriate scale and proportion.
The cost of the survey & site analysis are included in the package price.
I already have a topographical survey, can I use that?
No. We require a very specific list of information from our surveyor and for this reason we insist on collecting our own. Arranging our own survey is also more cost effective than auditing and amending an existing survey, allowing us to offer our packages at a fixed price.

Your Garden Survey
We’ll invoice for 50% of the package price, and once paid, we’ll arrange a professional topographical survey. The document captures data such as existing borders, trees and mature shrubs. Other features include your house and any outbuildings, inspection chambers and patios*.
The topographical survey provides the basis for your planting and styling design and it’s what we’ll use to capture data for the site analysis (step two).
The usual turn around time from booking your survey to us obtaining the data is around 2-3 weeks but we’d recommend allowing 4 weeks just to be safe.
*Note – The survey will illustrate existing boundaries rather than legal boundaries, does not show the location of underground services and will only indicate trees and key shrubs rather than individual specimens.
