Home Reimagined is a life led creative vision for people who know their property and garden could work better together, but are not yet convinced that another extension, a redesigned garden or a new collection of rooms will provide the answer.

The result is a clear and coherent concept illustrating what your property could become before you commit to architectural drawings, planning applications or construction.

The problem is rarely just one space

You may love the location but feel disconnected from the house, the garden may have potential but be awkward to reach, or perhaps the house doesn’t connect with the garden.  Maybe the seating is in the wrong places or previous alterations have left the property feeling like a collection of separate decisions. You may know what is not working but may not be able to imagine how to put it right.

That is exactly where Home Reimagined begins: we look beyond individual rooms and isolated garden features and consider the bigger picture to develop a concept for your home and garden. This reimagined concept can include suggestions to enhance the house, front and back gardens, boundaries, entrances, circulation, views, light, thresholds and the relationship between inside and outside.

What are you actually buying?

You are buying a vision for your home & garden – a creative concept to illustrate the potential of your home & garden, specifically designed around the life you want to live.

Our clients agree that Lee’s vision is best presented, in the first instance, as a short digital film that will help you see how the property and garden might flow, how spaces could connect and what everyday life there could feel like.

In the second part of this process, the concept can then be translated into a Vision Book to communicate the vision to an architect and any other professional consultants that you employ to bring the vision to life. It gives everyone a shared destination before they begin planning how to get there.

How Home Reimagined works | Part 1

 

1 | Our first conversation

Every Home Reimagined project begins with a quick telephone call with one of our team to answer any questions you may have about this service (click here to book). Then, if you’re happy to proceed and if we think we can help, you’ll be scheduled in for a one hour online meeting with Lee. This is an opportunity for him to hear what’s happening, understand what you are hoping to change and decide whether we are the right people to develop a vision with you.

It’s important that we enjoy talking to one another. Reimagining someone’s home & garden is personal work, and the relationship needs to feel right on both sides.

 

2 | Capturing your home

Once the scope of works and direction has been agreed, our team will capture information on the site in sufficient detail for the creative work to begin.

This will start with a measured survey recording levels, boundaries and openings, then we’ll layer it up with important views, circulation, neighbouring context and relevant information already held by you or your existing consultants. This creates a foundation from which we can build the vision.

 

3 | The Getting to Know You Visit

This next step is a much more immersive visit to your home.

We reserve a full day, including travel, and will usually spend between four and six hours together. Sharing a meal is encouraged, giving us the time and space to talk properly without rushing from room to garden and it will enable us to make real time observations.

We will explore things like how you currently use the property, talk about where daily life at home feels awkward and what you would like to do more of that your current layout doesn’t allow. We will discuss the house, garden, lifestyle, family, entertaining, privacy, storage, light, movement and the things you may have stopped noticing because you live with them every day.

We will get into the nitty gritty of the problems and do a lot of listening, thinking and reflecting.  During the visit, I will also step away from the property for around an hour. This pause gives me time to reflect, connect what I have heard and look beyond the most obvious answers. I will then return with my initial observations, questions and explore possible opportunities.

Following the visit, we will prepare a concise brief capturing what you would like to achieve.

 

4 | Creating and revealing the vision

We then develop the big creative ideas across the house and garden.

These ideas are brought together in a short vision film that allows you to experience a possible future. Rather than simply looking at plans, you will be able to see how the property and garden might flow, where new connections could be created and how life there could feel. The film is presented to you in person so that we can explain the thinking and experience your response.

You will then have time to live with the ideas, discuss them privately and notice which parts continue to feel right. Your consolidated feedback is used to refine the vision before the final concept is agreed.

 

What Home Reimagined is not

Home Reimagined does not replace the work of an architect, structural engineer, interior designer or other professional consultant or building professional.

We create a conceptual vision that is intended to be used as inspiration and for illustrative purposes to show the potential of your home and garden.

To bring our concept to life, you will need to appoint an architect and the relevant qualified professionals to determine what is achievable and to ensure regulatory compliance before making any changes – for example to develop the vision, for planning and structural design, to verify feasibility and safety, and to provide construction information and technical advice etc.

We cannot guarantee that a particular extension, opening or structural change etc. will be possible before the relevant professionals have assessed it.

Our role is to ensure that when the technical work begins, everyone understands what they are trying to achieve and why.

How much does this service cost?

This package is split into two parts.  The first part ‘The Vision’ as detailed above.  Then the second part The Vision Book that provides all parties who will need to be involved, with a package to share that vision.

Package 1 Part 1 | Rear Garden & Rear House Facade – Ideal for terraced and semi detached homes £4,400

This package is suited to terraced, townhouse and semi detached properties where we are considering the rear elevation of the house, its entrances and its relationship with the back garden.

It is ideal where space needs to work particularly hard and where one carefully considered move could transform several parts of everyday life.

Package 2 Part 1 | Rear Garden & Rear House Facade – For larger detached homes £6,600

This package is designed for larger detached properties, typically with four or five bedrooms, more extensive garden and a greater number of spaces, entrances, views and external relationships to consider.  The reimagining service is limited to the rear garden and the rear elevation of the house.

Package 3 Part 1 | Whole Home – For terraced and semi detached homes £12,400

This package is perfectly suited to terraced, townhouse and semi detached properties where we are considering the complete reimagining of the ground floor of the house, its entrances, facade and its relationship with the front and rear gardens.

It is ideal where space needs to work particularly hard and where one carefully considered move could transform several parts of everyday life.

Package 4 Part 1 | Whole Home – For larger detached homes £15,600

This package is designed for larger detached properties, typically with four or five bedrooms, more extensive gardens and a greater number of spaces, entrances, views and external relationships to consider.  It includes the reimagining of the ground floor of the ground floor layout, front and rear external facades including front and rear gardens.

PLEASE NOTE: Properties involving extensive grounds, several buildings, listed structures or particularly complex requirements will be considered individually. We will confirm the appropriate level, scope and fee following our initial online conversation.
