Acer griseum

Description:
This small specimen tree matures to form a neat, oval crown and rarely gets taller than 10m tall at maturity. It has unusual, beautifully bronze toned, peeling bark giving it the common name 'Paper Bark Maple'.  The foliage transforms from a mid green to fiery orange in autumn before falling in winter. Despite its deciduous nature, it is a great choice for winter interest due to the attractive bark which looks wonderful as low sunlight shines through it, creating a glow. It can be grown as either single or multi-stemmed tree and works well in large planters.
